Slade Gang Challenge
What is it?
While Jack Slade may have utilized our camp to practice and hone skills for the robbery, The Slade Challenge is an opportunity for groups participating in Educo Programs to practice and hone the skills they have learned on their trip. Each group is timed as they work together navigating by compass from challenge to challenge where they are timed and tested on their skills at setting up shelters, setting up a proper belay system and building a fire.
Challenge 1
The clock starts as the group works together to set up shelters well enough to keep dry in a rain storm!
Challenge 2
Using a compass and coordinates navigate to the next Challenge.
Challenge 3
Set up a climber on a belay including full safety commands and checklist.
Challenge 4
Use a compass and coordinates and again navigate to the next Challenge
Challenge 5
Build a fire strong enough to burn through a string 24in. above the fire ring. The first match is free, each additional match costs you 30 seconds. When the string breaks, thE clock stops!
