What is your favorite Outdoor Adventure?I anxiously await every year for that first snowflake to fall and realize that the snow season is just around the corner. There is something about skiing or snowboarding in fresh, fluffy powder, with a Colorado blue sky that puts me in a completely relaxed frame of mind with a smile on my face and all my worries behind me. My favorite part is probably the adventure that comes with going through a tree run and making your own path, or dropping down into a bowl and feeling that instant moment of glee.
What is your education Background? Graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelors in Health and Exercise Science, concentration in Sports Medicine. This program gave me a phenomenal education in Exercise Science, but also gave me all the required courses to go onto Medical School after my Bachelors. During my undergraduate degree, I spent my junior year studying abroad in Tasmania, Australia, which would definitely be the highlight of my Bachelors experience. I've also received my (EMT) emergency medical technician certificate from FRCC.
What would you do with a million dollars?About two years ago I traveled to Ghana Africa to teach about HIV/AIDS and malaria. I traveled there by myself and met up with some other fellow Americans and Canadians. I was pretty scared to travel to another country alone but it was something that I had wanted to do since I was young. I fell in love with the culture and the people, and I hope to return someday soon. The Ghanaian people taught me so much about myself and their lifestyle made me really realize how important it is to sit back and enjoy the company around you.
What animal do you most resonate with? Not sure how this came about, or what this person was basing this off of, but I once got told that I reminded someone of a Narwhal. At first I didn't even know what a Narwhal was, but after a bit of research and some critical thinking I've come up with why I was compared to a Narwhal. First, they live in the freezing cold waters of the arctic. I was born and raised in the mountains of Southern Colorado and have always been a fan of snowy, cold weather and the adventures that come with it. Second, I have one canine tooth that is quite apparent and sharp, which can be compared to the Narwhals one tooth that grows into a sword like tusk which is why they are known as the 'unicorn of the sea'. Lastly, a Narwhals diet consists of squid, fish, and shrimp and although I was raised nowhere near an ocean, I am a HUGE fan of seafood. So although it was farfetched, I can see why this person compared me to a Narwhal, which has thus become my spirit animal.
